The AIM of the SCOUT FELLOWSHIP is to provide ACTIVE SUPPORT to Scouting whether it be at Group, District or County level.

WHO CAN JOIN THE SCOUT FELLOWSHIP?

The Scout Fellowship is open to anyone over the age of 18 years who believes that Scouting plays an important and worthwhile role in helping in young peoples development and accepts the Scout Promise and Law as practical and necessary standards in today's world.

Therefore its is open to Leaders, Helpers, members of Group Executive Committees etc as well as people who have never had any previous involvement within the Scout or Guide Movements. Those who have not been involved before in Scouting or Guiding or in recent years will be required to be cleared for working with young people.

DO YOU HAVE TO WEAR A UNIFORM?

NO. If you choose to make the Scout promise you will be entitled to wear a Scout uniform but most Scout Fellowship members do not wear uniform and most Scout Fellowships including Worthing, have their own special sweatshirts which they wear often with the Scout Fellowship scarf.

HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU HAVE TO GIVE?

As much as you choose to . having taken on another role in the Group of District you may feel you will not have any more time to spare. Of course your priority will always be to your Group but within Scout Fellowship you will be able to help on an occasional basis with District events maybe involving a different section of Scouting to the one you are currently involved in.

WHAT ELSE DOES THE SCOUT FELLOWSHIP DO?

We have a lot of FUN.

There are many social activities; we attend camps, have monthly meetings in Worthing. We raise money at Fêtes etc. and generally enjoy the company of like minded adults. It is a chance to unwind; just for a short time not to have the responsibility of the young people.

Scout Fellowship also is a place to come if you decide for whatever reason to take a break from other Scouting commitments - you will always be welcome.
